2) Feasibility (30%)

3) Data Readiness (20%)

Do we have the necessary data, in a usable format, with the right level of governance? 4) Risk (10%)

What “Feasible” Looks Like in AI

Step 4. Validate Data Readiness Before You Build (Yes, Again)

Scoring can tell you what’s promising. But before you commit to building, you need a hard yes or no on whether the data is truly ready. So you’re going to repeat that part of your scoring. 

Start by confirming:

  • What data sources are needed, and whether you already have them
  • Data sensitivity and ownership—do you have permission to use it for this purpose?
  • Structure and coverage—is it complete and clean enough to support meaningful data processing and model training?
  • Recency and context—does it reflect how the process works today?
  • Feedback loop—is there a way to evaluate and improve model outputs?

If the data’s provenance or feedback loop is unclear, pause the AI project. 

Some domains, like customer experience, IT operations (AIOps), and parts of computer vision, tend to be more “data ready” by default. Logs, tickets, chat histories, customer data and sensor streams are often structured and already governed. These make strong candidates for early pilots.
