This Fortune 10 organization was in start-up mode and engaged HatchWorks' design team for user research and design assets. HatchWorks was also engaged for its general management consultation as to how to assemble their development and delivery organization specific to this highly complex project. The organization leveraged HatchWorks' experience as to how to effectively transition a prototype concept to software sprint delivery and a new team structure. Facing a high-pressure timeline crunch to bring the concept to reality to meet external announcement dates, a goal was set to provide their existing Global customers, and empower their sales teams, with this solution as the organization continued to scale this market opportunity.
HatchWorks met with this Fortune 10 company to understand their business model and long-term goals in terms of people, processes and technology. HatchWorks conducted thorough user research and developed a North Star design to help the client visualize their solution needs. Once the team had alignment, it assessed the current resource situation and made recommendations as to how the team could structure itself to transition into a software delivery team. This required aligning both internal and external development work team members. After assessing Global customer needs based on the research, HatchWorks suggested how to structure the timeline and development sprints with significant work streams in order to produce a product to meet their aggressive timelines. An opportunity was identified to improve how the team would communicate and a partnership was established with the client to reduce their frequent meeting problems, freeing up architects and technical SMEs to spend time on coding, designing and architecting. HatchWorks trained the organization on Agile fundamentals and made enhancements to how they crafted business requirements and user stories. HatchWorks identified pain points around environments and testing, understanding to the client's existing structure and partnering with to provide improvements to ensure final deployment and market demo needs were successful.
